About Us
Founded in 2007, Ransom is a clothing boutique located in the picturesque town of Jasper, Alberta. What began as an expansion to include men's clothing for the existing store, Bombshell Boutique, quickly grew into a beloved destination in its own right. While the original plan was to close Bombshell, its sentimental value to the original owner made it impossible to let go. And so, the two stores, Bombshell and Ransom, became forever intertwined.
In 2011, Silvie was hired as the manager of Ransom, bringing her expertise and passion for fashion to the store. Over the course of seven years, Silvie dedicated herself to the store's success. In early 2016, an exciting turning point arrived when Silvie seized the opportunity to purchase both Bombshell and Ransom, embarking on a new chapter in the boutiques' journey.
It was in 2016 that Ransom began its new phase in the store's evolution. A rebranding, introducing a fresh logo and the start of venturing into designer collaborations, marking a significant milestone. The boutique's vision and mission became clear: to foster a connection between people and their clothing or accessories, empowering them and creating a sense of connection to Jasper as a place.
While Bombshell focuses on offering feminine pieces for special events or nights out, Ransom has carved its niche as the go-to destination for everyday favorite pieces that could be cherished for years to come. The boutique expanded its offerings to encompass a range of styles for men, women, and even kids, becoming the predominant brand within the store. This transition occurred organically, driven by the desires and preferences of Ransom's loyal customers.
Central to Ransom's identity are its designer collaborations, an ongoing celebration of local artists who embody the boutique's aesthetic and values. Year after year, Ransom seeks out talented individuals who inspire and impassion, collaborating on unique creations, including hats, t-shirts, mugs, hoodies, and more. These collaborations exemplify Ransom's commitment to making art accessible, transforming it into functional pieces that can be taken home and cherished. One collaboration, in particular, holds a special place in the boutique's heart: the partnership with artist Leah, which sparked the entire initiative and remains a cherished collection to this day.
